Abstract

The aim of the research was to find out which areas of support were strong and low for the winning parties in the provincial elections.

The research found that kirkuk and Debs districts represented strong support areas for the PUK and Hawija district as a low support area, while the number of seats was )6(. The research also showed that Hawija district is a strong support area for the Arab coalition in Kirkuk and Kirkuk district is a low support area, while the number of seats was (3) seats. Kirkuk district, like a strong support area for the Kirkuk Turkmen Front and Hawija district, is a low support area, while the number of seats has reached (3) seats. Finally, the research showed that the selection of candidates for candidates in the province was carried out in accordance with several criteria, most notably nationalism and tribalism, and these criteria varied from district to district.
