Al-Ealal: Its Truth and Its Importance in Arab Morphology

Abstract

Vowel sounds are among the most subject to change and transformation as is known, and there is no fixed law that governs these sounds, so it is assumed that Al-Ealalal has passed through a stage of linguistic development with the presence of the ancient origin before the Al-Ealalal in a period of time of the Al-Ealalal and Mu'allal stage, and this is what Ibn Jinni confirmed when he conceived That Al-Ealalal did not have one stage in the language, rather it passed a phase between the correct and the mu'allaq, which is the phase of housing vowels, and this will be clarified through research. Some recent studies have defined the stages of Al-Ealal in Arabic in four stages: the first is the stage of the old correct one, the second is the stage of the vowels, and the third is the phase of the contraction of the consonant waw and yaa sounds and their transformation into the inclination, before they transform into the fourth stage of the vowels. Despite all that has been said, Al-Alal remains one of the finest what Arab scholars have reached, as they demonstrated in the study of this phenomenon a coordinated approach that is not contradicted despite its accuracy, difficulty and ramifications. As for the research plan, it was divided into an introduction and five sections, the first: Al-Alal in language and convention

The second: the truth of the Al-Ealal, and the third: what came contrary to the rules set by the grammarians, the fourth: the expressions of the right of the Al-Ealal and not attributed, and the fifth: the Al-Ealal from the viewpoint of the modernists. Then the search ended with a conclusion in which the findings of the research were recorded. In conclusion, we can only say that we do not claim perfection, for it is God alone, except that we see in it a modest effort that we put in the hands of researchers in the service of the Arabic language.
