The Impact of Child Labor on the Community of the City of Alamara
Abstract
The city of Amara, as all other cities , is one of the Iraqi cities in which the phenomenon of child labor is widespread, and it represents a dangerous and negative phenomenon, and it has unsatisfactory results both at the family and community level, as this phenomenon is distributed in varying numbers according to the type of work that children perform within the districts of the study area.
The aim of the research is to identify the demographic, housing and educational characteristics of the children of the sample, which led to their entry into the labor market, as well as the degree of satisfaction with work, and to know the economic, social and health effects of their work.
The research was based on a sample that included (110) children whose ages ranged between (6-14) years, through answering the questionnaire questions related to the phenomenon of child labor, and thus came recommendations based on the conclusions reached by the study to reduce the phenomenon of child labor.
