Aggressive Behavior in Social Media
(A Survey Study on University Students from 1/4/2020 to 30/6/2020)
Abstract
This study comes in the context of the technological challenge and timeline that is taking shape in the era of the endings of postmodernism, and digital modernity in the words of "Kirby". According to this perspective, the social and cultural reality is taking shape. then fragmentary and uncontrolled behaviors is taking shape. This means that there is no universal explanation for behavior, as a result of the fragmentation and disintegration of society according to current internet system.
The study aimed to find out aggressive behavior and motives of university youth's use of social networking sites, and source of their access to information. It also aimed to know the most topics in which aggression appears.
The number of respondents reached 270 students, who were selected through a multi-stage sample of social media users from Al-Farahedi University, Esraa and Dijlah Faculties in Baghdad city. The researcher reached a set of results, the most important of which are: Respondents ’sources of aggressive behavior were from the comments of website visitors, the most important topics in which respondents can see aggressive behavior are political and religious issues, and ignoring the most important way to get rid of aggressive behaviors.
