Dialogue in Islam and its Role in the Advancement of Civilization

Abstract

Dialogue is an original pillar of the Islamic religion and one of the values ​​of our civilization that is based mainly on the principles of the true religion and its tolerant teachings, and it is the method of the prophets, peace be upon them, in preaching and calling.

 A systematic dialogue based on balance and objectivity is important in addressing internal issues, reducing the dispute, uniting hearts, and expanding the circle of agreement between the different parties.

 With this, Muslims were able to establish a purely scientific methodology upon which Islamic civilization was based, and this civilization was the reason for the scientific and civilized development we are witnessing in our time.

 The study is an attempt to root the dialogue in a scientific and legitimate basis, by linking dialogue with the basic tasks of Islamic civilization, as well as linking (the origins of dialogue) directly to the texts of revelation, as it was keen to extrapolate and follow the dialogues of the Holy Qur’an, reflect and consider its verses, and extract the dialogue methodology from them, as well as the role of dialogue in  The civilizational advancement of the nation.
