The poetic of (The Gap : Tension Distance ) in the Flash Poem

(A Study in the collection of “One Thousand Females” by Omar Al-Khafaji)

Abstract

Poetry in general is characterized by the flavor of its own language. A language which heads towards displacement, suggestion, and reference, and many other techniques, which tend to employ symbolism and intertextuality . Poetry is also designed by a unique structure, which often relies on the principle of dualities, such as the duality of the contrast / opposition, and the duality of presence /absence.

This study aims to expose the poetic content of (One Thousand Females) , a poetic collection by (Omar Al-Khafaji), who basically uses “The Poetic Flash” as his own poetic path in many texts in order to deliver his poetic revelation. This study acts to gain insights into the potentials of a poetic reservoirs based on his contemplation of “The Gap : Tension Distance” that occurs between two heterogeneous yet appears in the text as heterogeneous selves .

The basic structure of the study is built on three sections and preceded by a conceptual framing which presents concepts such as (The poetics - The Gap - The Flashing poem). It is also followed by a conclusion that involves the most prominent results of the research. That is , Firstly , the poetics of the gap of emptiness, while the second dealt with: The semantic shift of the poetics of the gap, while the last is devoted to monitor the poetics of the gap of opposition and contrast.
