Organizational Happiness in Pre-University Educational Institutions in Arab Countries
(A literature review)
Abstract
This study aims to explore the reality of organizational happiness in pre-university educational institutions across Arab countries. To achieve this objective, the study adopted a literature review methodology, in which published research on organizational happiness in Arab pre-university educational settings between 2015 and 2025 was traced and analyzed using strict criteria to ensure the quality and relevance of the selected studies.The review's findings revealed several key conclusions, most notably that organizational happiness plays a pivotal role in shaping employee behavior and influencing the overall work climate in schools. It is strongly associated with positive peer relationships, effective leadership, and a sense of pride and belonging to the institution. The results also indicated that some dimensions—such as justice and credibility—remain insufficiently fulfilled in several educational environments. Furthermore, the review showed that the overall level of organizational happiness in pre-university educational institutions ranges from moderate to high. It also found that most Arab studies in this field relied predominantly on quantitative approaches and used questionnaires as the sole data-collection tool, with limited methodological and instrument diversity.
