Entrepreneur in the Clothing Business during the Corona Pandemic
Abstract
The Coronavirus epidemic had great health, social and economic effects, and the measures and precautions governments took to limit the spread of the virus caused social life to stop in many countries of the world. And when China, the world's largest textile and apparel producer, was first hit by the COVID-19 virus, the strict lockdown caused delays in the manufacturing supply chain. These delays have been particularly difficult for fashion companies because most fashion products are seasonal goods (Zhao, 2021) and most major brands in the apparel trade have canceled orders, postponed orders, and halted production, However, small fashion brands were struggling to survive, as entrepreneurs operate on tight budgets, and any disruption or delay in sales can cut cash flow and disrupt their business. Therefore, this study examines the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on clothing trade entrepreneurs. The study used the phenomenological approach, and 16 entrepreneurs participated in the clothing trade projects. The results indicate that there are financial, administrative, and other health and psychological effects because of stopping their business and trying to stay on However, they responded to the effects of the pandemic according to the available resources, ensuring their survival in the market.
